Some 400 racers took part in the GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill Event, raising over $75,000 for environmental education programs at Friends of Camp Colton.
The 2023 event broke several records, for fundraising and participation, with nearly 400 runners racing up the mountainous slopes of the Arizona Snowbowl.
Ari Wilder, Executive Director of Friends of Camp Colton, said the GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill brings people of all ages together for an evening of fun and adventure.
“All of the proceeds from this much-loved race support Camp Colton outdoor programs for kids. Over the years, this race has made the Camp experience possible for thousands of local kids,” she said.
Participants in the race have the chance to win a variety of raffle prizes from major outdoor brands and local companies in addition to helping Friends of Camp Colton raise funds.
Danny Giovale, Founder and Owner of Kahtoola, said they are thrilled that the 16th annual Uphill was the most successful event to date.
“We so are proud and incredibly grateful for all the sponsors and volunteers that have helped build this event into such an impactful experience for Kahtoola and Friends of Camp Colton,” he said.
Since it began, the GORE-TEX Kahtoola Uphill event has raised almost $600,000 to help educate the next generation of environmental stewards.
