Outdoor enthusiasts and REI Co-op members have reason to celebrate as the renowned specialty outdoor retailer unveils plans to open 10 new stores in 2024.
REI Co-op Expanding Nationwide in 2024
The expansion includes summer openings in Glendale, Arizona, and Rancho Mirage, California, and a fall 2025 launch in St. George, Utah.
Repurposing existing retail spaces, the locations will offer a diverse range of outdoor gear, apparel, and expert advice for various activities.
The co-op’s growth plan also includes spring openings in Beavercreek, Ohio, and Beaverton, Oregon, and fall launches in Albany, New York, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mary-Farrell Tarbox, REI Vice President of Stores, expressed excitement about becoming a resource for these communities.
Tarbox stated, “We look forward to serving as a welcoming resource to everyone through our staff’s expertise and broad product assortment.”
Additional store details will be announced as contracts are finalized. Looking ahead to 2025, Durango, Colorado, and another St. George, Utah, location are on the horizon.
