Initial Thoughts on the Altra Outroad 2 Trail-Running Shoes

There are many great little trails around my neighborhood that I love taking my pup out exploring around, and Altra’s Outroad 2 Trail-Running shoes have been a great option as I constantly switch between the sidewalk and trail. I enjoy the extra toe room that these shoes have, and even though my feet are a bit narrow, they do not feel too wide as they hug and support the rest of my feet very nicely. I also didn’t feel like there was any sort of ‘break-in’ period with these shoes, they were very comfortable and flexible from the beginning. With the low ankle, I would not recommend these for rocky or challenging terrain though.
Pros Cons
  • Very cushy around the ankles, does not rub when wearing low-rise socks
  • While I like the shoelace design and texture, they do tend to come untied easily if not double-knotted
  • Grippy outsoles for added traction
  • Low ankle does not provide a ton of support
