Initial Thoughts on the Mountain Hardwear AMG 75L Pack
A pack built for adventure and multi-day treks, suitable for winter and summer adventures alike. If you’re an organizer this pack has compartments and straps galore to attach and carry your equipment that’s necessary for a fun and successful adventure. The AMG 75L pack balances weight and durability with an emphasis on the durability factor – made with 200d Ripstop Nylon.
I took this pack out on multi-day trips up Mount Rainier and in Olympic National Forest up Mount Olympus and it did everything and more I could have asked for in a pack. Coming with separate pockets to store your sleeping bag and pad, a designated crampon pocket, AND a watertight pocket on the front to store your valuables like your phone and wallet.
The pack also comes with a customizable fit that accommodates various body shapes and sizes, thanks to adjustable shoulder straps, a padded hip belt, and a sternum strap. The back panel is well-ventilated, providing breathability during hot hikes, while the load-lifter straps help distribute weight effectively, reducing strain on the back. – With that being said I am shorter in stature at 5’6” 155lbs and found even with adjusting the pack to its smallest fit I had issues with the padded waist belt sinking below my hips with a heavy load in the pack. It wasn’t an end-of-the-world problem but, something to think about.
