Initial Thoughts on the REI Co-op Women’s Atlas Montane Snowshoes

These snowshoes are awesome for anyone that wants to take up snowshoeing – they feel lightweight and are super easy to put on and take off! The 23″ were perfect (I’m 5’4″) and it did not take very long for the steps to start to feel ‘natural.’

Pros Cons
  • Easy on and off, with plastic pieces to hold the excess straps after tightening
  • Take the time up front to ensure strap locks are shut/secure, otherwise they will open up while on the trail
  • 23″ are a great overall size (length/width), did not feel ‘clunky’ or oversized
  • Snowshoe carrying case is sold separately, and would be nice to have
