Initial Thoughts on the REI Co-op Trailmade Trekking Poles

I took the REI TrailMade Trekking Poles out on a trip up Mount Rainier, through the Olympics down the Hoh River, and on a hike right in Forest Park here in Portland. I can say they are a fantastic choice for hikers seeking a dependable and well-crafted trekking pole. They offer a great mix of comfort, durability, and functionality at a reasonable price. Whether you’re tackling a local trail or heading out for a longer adventure, these poles will serve you well.
While these poles suited me well on my adventures I would have liked for them to have measurement markers on both extendable pieces of the pole. They have measurement markers on ½ pieces of the pole. This made it so it took me an extra second to adjust my poles to the right length.
Pros Cons
  • Reasonable price for a pair of trekking poles with solid durability and functionality
  • Measurement markers on only 1 part of the extendable pole
  • Versatile for both short and long adventures on the trail or in the mountains
  • The locking mechanism along the shaft can become loose with heavy use and you will have to ensure to tighten it every so often
