If you do a lot of trail running, then you’re probably aware that disposable cups are a big problem.
Made of ultra-lightweight TPU, a material that is 100% BPA and PVC-free, the SpeedCup’s flexible form enables runners to fold the cup and tuck it in their pocket or utilize the built-in finger loop allowing easy transport.
In fact, HydraPak has established a Cupless Race program for race directors and event planners as part of an ongoing initiative to promote cupless races.
Likewise, the brand has also created the Cupless Toolkit, which comprised of digital assets, including HydraPak logos, Speedcup images, and web banners.
Jeff Ball, Director of The North FaceEndurance Challenge Series, said going cupless has drastically reduced waste in their events.
“I would estimate that we’ve reduced aid station trash by 75% due to going cupless,” he said.
Brian Vanderheiden, Owner of Steep Endurance Races, said giving away Speedcups in everyone’s race packet has educated their runners about the importance of ‘going green’ and ‘sustainable racing.’
Meanwhile, HydraPak is set to take part in forthcoming events such as the Overland Expo, the world’s top overlanding event series, in August in Loveland, Colorado, and the ISPO in Munich, Germany, in November of this year.
