CamelBak Chute Mag Vacuum Water Bottle – 50% Off
The CamelBak Chute water bottle is by now a classic, and the vacuum insulated edition will keep you drinks cold for 24 hours or hot for six hours. There’s a magnetic cap that stows when not in use, a small lid to drink from, and a large lid that lets you fill up water easily. If you’ve been looking for an insulated water bottle at serious discount, this is it.
Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket – 30% Off
The Patagonia Nano Puff is an iconic synthetic insulated jacket. Made with 75% recycled materials, it’s a decently warm layer that packs into its own pocket, weighs right around 12 ounces, and has an impeccable build. It uses PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Eco synthetic insulation, and the fabric is bluesign approved.
The Nano Puff is the do-it-all synthetic puffy, and it’s seriously discounted in this REI sale.
REI Trail 2 Print Waistpack – 30% Off
Hip belts are back! REI’s Trail 2 hip belt (called a waistpack here) is a simple, stylish carry-all for your essentials. It has a simple, adjustable strap that fits waists up to 45 inches, two zippered pockets, and cool patterns.
While neither pocket is huge, you can store a day’s worth of snacks, bars, your wallet, chapstick, and a bit more. Ideal for anyone going on a quick jaunt, and it won’t break the bank.
Smartwool 250 Base Layer ¼ Zip Top – 30% Off
If there was a single, go-to merino wool baselayer we could recommend, it would be the Smartwool Merino 250 line. It’s a classic because it performs well for technical or casual environments, is made of Smartwool’s impressive merino wool, has a fit that works for most people, and manages to hit the perfect mark between resting warmth and active breathability.
The Quarter-Zip version gives a bit more breathability for hiking in cool climates, and allows you to adjust your temperature with a single layer. That said, it’s a fully featured backcountry piece. Fine midweight merino wool, a 10-inch front zipper, and UPF 50+ is all built in.
REI has finally jumped on the over-the-top car camping sleeping pad train with the Camp Dreamer Double Deluxe. It’s a self-inflating pad that uses thick foam to achieve four inches of soft, solid support.
It has two flat valves for quick inflation and deflation, and the valves let you micro-adjust the firmness. The side walls are vertical and make it more like a real bed, it comes with a carry bag, and has a stellar R-Value that lets you use it all-year round. It’s 55 inches wide, plenty for most people, and weighs under 10 pounds. Plus, the included pump sack — a large tube that blows in air — doubles as a pillow.
Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm – 25% Off
When it comes to the warmth to weight ratio of a sleeping pad, there isn’t a better option than the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm. It has been a tried-and-true backpacking pad for so many years that we awarded it, have included it in a bunch of guides, and a lot of our team uses it for cold weather backpacking. Some products are legendary for a reason.
The Regular-sized mummy pad weighs just under a pound, has a 2.5-inch thickness, and a very impressive (and winter-ready) R Value of 5.7. That means you will get the full warmth of your bag because the pad maintains and reflects back your body heat as you sleep. It’s crazy comfortable, too.
Osprey Daylite Plus Pack – 25% Off
The Osprey Daylite Plus is an uncomplicated day pack designed for versatility and comfort. It has mesh shoulder straps, a slim hip belt, and a breathable mesh-covered back panel for solid support. There’s a front external stuff pocket for storing a first aid kit or puffy, a small zippered pocket on the front, and two larger main compartments.
Overall this is a solid, simple day pack that works for hiking, travel, and around town.
NEMO Dagger 2 Tent – 25% Off
The NEMO Dagger 2 is an ultralight 2-person tent with a heap of technical features. It uses DAC Featherlite poles in a unique construction for increased headroom, easy setup, and extreme durability. There are two large doors and vestibules with the rainfly fully setup, creating a porch-like experience for all your backpacking trips.
There are gear pockets, NEMO’s Light Pockets (which diffuse the light of a headlamp for even glow), and thin, ultra-strong materials. Like most ultralight 2-person tents, it is a tight squeeze, but at just under four pounds this is an impressive tent.
Solo Stove Ranger Fire Pit – 25% Off
Solo Stove is all about the natural fire pit. The Ranger is a compact pit that can create a leave-no-trace fire in a matter of minutes. Solo Stove uses a unique double-wall design that automatically pulls in air to feed the fire while also reducing the amount of smoke created.
The wood actually burns so well that you won’t have smoldering, smoky logs leftover, just fine ash, which is caught easily in the bottom of the Ranger. It uses a durable, lightweight 304 stainless-steel and weighs just 15 pounds. Ideal for campsites and backyards.
Kahtoola MICROspikes – 20% Off
Kahtoola’s MICROSpikes are easily regarded as the go-to traction for winter pursuits. If there’s snow or ice on the ground and you want to hike, the MICROspikes are essential. They strap over your shoes or boots, use twelve ⅜ inch spikes per foot, and hold very well in snow. They weigh just 11 ounces total, and will make your winter hikes easier, more fun, and way safer.
