As part of the REI Co-op’s updated membership benefits, members can now trade in eligible used gear for REI gift cards.
Members can avail of the trade-in program online and at participating locations.
In order to enjoy this benefit, they can go online first and find out what they can trade in and what their gear is worth. Members may check REI’s trade-in page for restrictions on what the Co-op will purchase back.
If trading online, members may receive a digital gift card 7-10 business days after shipping the item. If trading in a participating store, members will instantly receive a gift card.
Through this program, the used gear that members trade in may help another member get outside or try a new activity for the first time.
Likewise, members are reminded that REI is inspecting every product to ensure it is ready for resale and they get appropriate credit for the gear.
