Initial Thoughts on the Nathan TrailMix 2.0 12 Liter Hydration Pack

Nathan’s new TrailMix 2.0 12L Hydration Pack is a great option if you’re heading out for a day hike or bike ride! The four front pockets on the straps are by far my favorite part of the pack, keeping my phone and safety items readily available – along with chapstick, dog leash, waste bags, etc. The adjustable straps on the side and sternum ensure you get a comfortable fit and the main compartment is accessed via a roll-top – which is a great place to store a few snacks and shed a thin clothing layer as you warm up on the trail.

Pros Cons
  • The breathable mesh straps are comfortable and allow you to stay cool
  • If you are taking the pack on and off be careful of any valuables stored in the strap pockets, the straps are very flimsy and items could potentially fall out
  • Includes 1.5: Hydration Bladder
  • Not much padding for the back so be careful storing any rigid items, could become uncomfortable
