Backpacking Food: How to Make the Bravas Bomb

How to Make the Bravas Bomb

Instant mashed potatoes and tuna packets are part of just about every backpacker’s meal plan.  And for good reason.  They are cheap, filling,  lightweight, and available at almost every grocery store.  But they can get pretty boring day after day on the trail.

This recipe is a take on the classic Spanish dish, Patatas Bravas.  Featuring a couple of high flavor, easy packing ingredients that will really elevate this bowl into something you’ll be excited for after a long day on the trail.  Make sure to get SMOKED paprika rather than regular paprika which has minimal flavor.   I love packing along with a few extras like red peppers, olives, or other veggies for some nice freshness and crunch.
